Oracle Database Certification
Oracle Database certifications prove you can query, administer, tune and secure Oracle databases. Oracle currently offers 12 Database exams, from Database Foundations for beginners to Associate and Professional exams for SQL developers and DBAs, on both Oracle AI Database (26ai) and Oracle Database 19c. Which exam should you take?
- New to databases: Start with 1Z0-006 Oracle Database Foundations, the only Foundations-level exam in this list.
- SQL developers and analysts: Take 1Z0-071 Oracle Database SQL, or the newer 1Z0-171 Oracle AI Database SQL Associate if you work on 26ai.
- DBAs on Oracle AI Database (26ai): Begin with 1Z0-182 Administration Associate, then move on to 1Z0-183 Administration Professional.
- DBAs on Oracle Database 19c: Take 1Z0-082 Administration I and 1Z0-083 Administration II, then specialise: 1Z0-076 Data Guard, 1Z0-078 RAC, ASM and Grid Infrastructure, 1Z0-084 Performance Management and Tuning, or 1Z0-116 Security Administration.
- PL/SQL developers: Take 1Z0-149 Oracle Database Program with PL/SQL.
Frequently asked questions
How many questions are on Oracle Database certification exams?
Between 55 and 77. Most exams last 120 minutes; 1Z0-084 and 1Z0-149 last 90 minutes. Passing scores range from 57% (1Z0-083) to 66% (1Z0-149).
Should I take the 19c or the AI Database (26ai) exams?
Both tracks are live. Choose the release your employer runs: the 26ai exams (1Z0-171, 1Z0-182, 1Z0-183) cover Oracle's newest database, the 19c exams cover the long-term release most companies still run.
Which Oracle Database exam is the easiest to start with?
1Z0-006 Oracle Database Foundations is the entry-level exam: 60 questions in 120 minutes with a 60% passing score.
